Well I was watching and chatting in Nema’s live stream today and the subject of Recycling came up.

So I thought I’d post my Recycling rant.
By the way, I was orginally going to make a political web page, but it all got me to angry so I just went with stuff I like. Games, music, movies… Anything I like may show up here.
Anyhow, the Recycling rant is about how in the U.S., recycling is just a mess. Different laws everywhere you go and none if them really make sense.
Nema said by her, they put big containers in the ground and people separate the trash. Then trucks come to pick up each container. But even then they are thinking of changing it since it costs more to pick up each container than it does to just separate the trash at the center.
Which is kind of the point of my Rant.
No matter how good an individual could be at sorting, they will not get it 100% right. And that’s for someone who is trying to get it right. The vast majority with half-heartily try to do it and some will out right not care at all.
Then I have read some things saying how we don’t recycle enough plastic to keep up with the demand for plastic recycling bins. I don’t know if that’s really true, but it can’t be far off. A bin for Trash, Glass, Plastic and Metal, for each household and then those extra small bis for overflow. Then they break and crack all the time.
All trash, everything, should just get brought to the same location where it’s processed and sorted. Then it can be recycled fully and even the bio-trash can be used to generate methane that will power the plant and can even power the trucks that pick up the trash. Some countries do it this way and it’s the most efficient way and really the only cost effective way.
Well, that’s my Recycling rant. I like to say I’m against recycling and when someone get’s all pissy with me saying I don’t love the environment I can go into how I care and what’s being done is worse for the environment then doing nothing.
